(2) To establish myself as an interviewer/profile writer for hire.
(3) Every small piece of writing helps sell my larger pieces.
(4) Connecting to the sources and the audiences for this work
would open some interesting doors in life.

What do I need to get started?

Interview subjects; a publication timeline; good pre-publication
publicity to best audiences; a small pile of capital if in hard copy;
some very good bells and whistles if electronic only.
